⸺ Inspirational Words ⸺
When I was CEO, I implemented a business operating system in my company, and I've seen the impact on organizational clarity, competence, and performance. It made me better and my team better. I help other ambitious executives get there too.
Across my career I’ve been an executive, employee, entrepreneur, investor, and board member in well over a dozen organizations, ranging from startups to global enterprises; private to public; investor-backed to partnership to family-owned; across tech, healthcare, banking, education, manufacturing, and nonprofit. I’ve seen high-performing and dysfunctional teams. I’ve felt stuck, frustrated, and that “things weren’t right”. I’ve also felt the exhilaration, liberation, and satisfaction of breaking through with a high-functioning team.
When CEO of TechPoint, convinced that there had to be a better way to structure high-performing organizations, I went on a quest to find the best business operating system and methodologies. I studied V2MOM (popularized by Salesforce), OKR (popularized by Google), and EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System). I read the books by Jim Collins, Patrick Lencioni, Verne Harnish, and Clayton Christensen. I determined that EOS was the most well-integrated and supported option at the time. With the help of an excellent implementer/guide over two years, we up-leveled our team, planning, communication, cadence, meetings, habits, and culture. It was transformative.
I later became a venture capital investor, and I found myself implementing the same tools we did at TechPoint and really enjoying facilitating quarterly & annual planning sessions. When I was introduced to Pinnacle and what I perceived as its improvements to EOS, I made the leap to become a trained Guide so I could help other ambitious leadership teams experience similar transformations and achieve their ambitions.
Build the system, and the system will set you free.
