⸺ Inspirational Words ⸺

When I was CEO, I implemented a business operating system in my company, and I've seen the impact on organizational clarity, competence, and performance. It made me better and my team better. I help other ambitious executives get there too.

Across my career, I’ve been an executive, employee, entrepreneur, investor, and board member in well over a dozen organizations. My experience ranges from startups to global enterprises, from private to public, and from investor-backed to partnership to family-owned; spanning tech, healthcare, banking, education, manufacturing, and nonprofit sectors. I’ve seen both high-performing and dysfunctional teams. I’ve felt stuck, frustrated, and like “things weren’t right.” I’ve also felt the exhilaration, liberation, and satisfaction of breaking through with a high-functioning team.

When I was CEO of TechPoint, I was convinced there had to be a better way to structure high-performing organizations, so I began a quest for the best business wisdom. I studied Jim Collins, Patrick Lencioni, Clayton Christensen, and others. I was thrilled to discover the concept of a business operating system–which distills much of the best business wisdom into an integrated, implementable toolkit for boosting organizational fitness and performance. I selected the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), the leader at the time. With the help of an excellent EOS implementer/guide over two years, my team clarified our vision and goals, up-leveled and aligned our team and culture, overhauled meetings and planning, and established a disciplined operating rhythm. It was transformative.

I later became a partner at a venture capital firm, where I found myself implementing the system with my portfolio companies and enjoying it. When I was introduced to Pinnacle and their operating system improvements, I made the leap to guiding ambitious leadership teams full-time, helping them achieve the confidence, winning performance, and personal freedom I experienced.
