Growing up in Iowa, Tom had a traditional family childhood enriched by Boy Scouting, Playing Drums, High School Weightlifting, Wrestling and Football. After school he honorably served in the US Army where his duty demanded mental and physical fitness, discipline, strict processes and leadership training at which time it became evident he was built for leadership.
However well Tom benefited by military experience his goals were to build a career in business, specifically sales and management. Working in commercial sales achieving very early success, it became his destiny to excel and prosper in his career.
Tom leveraged his discipline, leadership and communication skills to pioneer in an emerging a/v technology business developing relationships with mid to large size organizations investing in integrated systems. His career was unique as he worked numerous industry vantages as a system integrator and technology manufacturers in the industry. His range of experience includes initial work as a regional system integrator based in the Midwest, followed by a move to Atlanta to head up responsibility for North American sales and management of a Belgium based manufacturer of visual communication equipment. A decade later a unique opportunity presented itself to lead a North American visual technology start-up that called on his intense commitment to plan, execute and grow the company.
Going full circle Tom was recruited by his original system integrator to relocate to Kansas City where he would restructure region and manage an acquisition of an expansion branch to St Louis.
During his time in Kansas City, Tom sought out specialized training to develop his sales and administrative team. Among the programs he completed, his favorite was with Greg Cleary as they developed very interesting and successful processes that improved quality and grew the company. One other notable program was the Sandler Sales certification for the sales team. This experience taught Tom the importance and value of outside business guidance to make a good team great. It is now that Tom realizes it is his time to share the knowledge and the reward of seeing people succeed.
Tom lives in Kansas City with his wife Chyrl and their two adult daughters Jen and April. They have the fortune of being with their three grandchildren Charlotte (5), Calvin (3) and Lily (1) nearly every day. The family values common sense, integrity and love.
